A downloadable game
This game has been made for the Blackthornprod jam 3, a 7 days jam. I worked alone.
The theme of the jam was "less is more".
Due to performances issues, the game is not available for webgl. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Controls and basic gameplay
Shoot your ennemies and dodge their attacks.
Use the arrows keys or wasd for movment.
Une your mouse for aiming and change the light intensity. The light intensity will increase when your mouse pointer is far away.
Less light = more shoots!
More gameplay explanation
Pickups that change the weapon can be collected.
Each weapon have a strenght and a drawback :
- Basic yellow weapon: when picked up, increases the points multiplier by 20% for the rest of the run. It's not a great weapon.
- Red "berzerk" weapon: very powerfull weapon, but use with care! You lose life twice as fast when you use this weapon.
- Orange "multishoot" weapon: very low firerate, but fires several bullets at once. Powerfull at close range with low ligth.
- Green "healing" weapon: fully heals you when picked up, but it's the weakest weapon of the game, quick go get another one!
Killing ennemies and collecting pickups give you points.
You level up when you get enough points and the ennemies becomes more powerfull and more numerous.
Survive as long as you can!
Assets and tools used during the jam
- The game has been made with the Unity game engine
- All graphical assets where made during the jam (inkscape).
- All sounds and music assets where made during the jam (with a mike, audacity, sfxr and chiptone)
- Most shaders where made during the jam (using shadergraph), the rest is unity's default shaders.
- Most of the code has been made during the jam, I just used an homemade event manager that I wrote previously. It just make the communication between objects easier, nothing gameplay related. I also obviously used a lot of official Unity packages.
- The font used is LiberationSans

wonderful. It can be full developed in my opinion
I played until level 8 and gotta say, the atmosphere is really great!
This game is crying out for a progression system, with more and more obscure enemies and creatures showing up. And more sound effects and some music or background atmo.
Very solid start, I hope you turn this one into a bigger game 👍
Thanks for your feedback. The sounds effects are on the way. The progression system is already implemented, but I dont have enough monsters to make it visible. I will try to add some this afternoon. I wanted to add big elite/boss monsters but I dont know if I will have enough time.
the prototype is super solid, the only thing I miss is a hit sound when hitting the enemies. It would help make the bullets feel more powerfull, and you know when you hit them.
the player feels alittle bit weak, can seem to get much further than lvl 3.
Some enemy death effects would be nice, since most of the just disapear.
but other than that, good job !! atmosphere is top notch.
